FABRIC TYPE
Light-filtering (translucent) solar screen fabrics use a basket weave pattern to allow specific amounts of light to pass through, depending on how tightly the fabric is woven (expressed as a percentage of "openness" or "transparency") .

Other light filtering roller shade fabrics use specialty weaves to allow light passage, but due to the irregular weave patterns, are not designated with openness percentages. Room-darkening roller shade fabrics allow no light to pass through the fabric, although there will be light at the edges of the shade, where there are gaps.

FABRIC TRANSPARENCY
Light-filtering (translucent) solar screen roller shade fabrics allow various amounts of light to pass through, depending on the openness of the fabric weave. 1% fabrics allow the least light and some degree of privacy, whereas 10% fabrics are extremely sheer. Our most popular solar shade fabric transparencies are the 3% open and 5% open options.

Fascia end caps are NOT provided for inside mount. If your window/door frame has less than 4 1/4" of depth, the metal fascia brackets will be partially exposed outside the frame. In this case, you might want to consider either no fascia or outside mount.
Our cassette system provides a smooth metal cover (or we can elegantly wrap the cover in the same fabric used for the shade) for enclosing the roller tube and brackets at the top of the shade. The shade and cassette system ships fully assembled. All you need to do is install a few small brackets, then snap the cassette on to the brackets!

TENSIONER BRACKET
The chain tensioner anchors the bottom of the operating chain to the window frame or wall. It is required by law (for child safety reasons) for operation of the shade. If mounting the shade inside the window frame, the tensioner is normally installed directly to the inside of the frame (no additional bracket needed). If mounting the shade outside the window frame - or for mounting the tensioner outside the frame for any other reason - please add a tensioner bracket.
