Why Choose Continuous Cord Loop Blackout Cellular Shades?

Continuous cord loop shades use an internal clutch-and-pulley system that lets you raise and lower the shade by pulling the loop rather than lifting the bottom rail directly.

How Dark Are Blackout Cellular Shades?

EcoSmart room-darkening cellular fabrics block 99% of incoming light through the fabric and provide complete privacy. They are especially well suited to bedrooms, media rooms, nurseries, and other spaces where reducing daylight is important.

However, blackout fabric does not make the entire window opening completely light-tight. Small gaps remain around the perimeter of an installed shade, so some light can enter along all four edges.

Single-Cell or Cell-in-Cell Blackout Fabric?

Both options use modern 3/4-inch honeycomb pleats, but their internal construction and insulating performance differ.

Single-cell fabric contains one honeycomb-shaped air pocket. It is lighter in weight, somewhat less expensive, and still provides excellent insulation.

Cell-in-cell fabric contains a smaller honeycomb cell inside the larger outer cell. The additional trapped air provides somewhat greater insulation and makes it a strong option when maximizing thermal performance is a priority.

Both room-darkening constructions provide excellent privacy and EcoSmart’s highest level of cellular fabric insulation.

Add Side Tracks for Greater Light Control and Insulation

Compatible inside-mounted shades can be upgraded with EcoSmart Cellular Side Tracks.

The tracks cover the narrow gaps along the sides of the shade and can help reduce both airflow and edge light. They do not create a completely airtight or light-tight window, but they can improve both thermal performance and room darkening.

Side tracks are available for compatible cellular shades up to 94 inches high and require an inside mount with at least 1 1/4 inches of flat mounting depth.
