A pull wand is located on each side of the shade, with one controlling the top rail and the other controlling the bottom. You can also choose which side performs each function when configuring your shade.

How Much Privacy Do Light-Filtering Cellular Shades Provide?

Light-filtering cellular fabric is translucent rather than transparent. It prevents a clear view through the shade while allowing natural light to diffuse into the room.

In most situations, this provides excellent privacy. However, a person or object positioned directly between a strong interior light source and the shade may create a visible silhouette from outside, particularly with lighter fabric colors.

Single-Cell or Cell-in-Cell Fabric?

Both fabric constructions use modern 3/4-inch honeycomb pleats and trap air between the room and window to improve insulation.

Single-cell fabric contains one honeycomb-shaped air pocket. It provides excellent insulation while keeping the shade somewhat lighter and more economical.

Cell-in-cell fabric places a smaller cell inside the larger honeycomb cell. The additional air pocket provides somewhat greater thermal performance.

Add Side Tracks for Greater Insulation

Compatible inside-mounted shades can be upgraded with EcoSmart Cellular Side Tracks.

The tracks cover the narrow gaps along the sides of the shade and help reduce airflow between the room and window. They can improve thermal performance while also reducing the small amount of light that naturally travels around the edges of a cellular shade.

Side tracks are available only for compatible inside-mounted shades up to 94 inches high and require at least 1 1/4 inches of flat mounting depth.

Light Filtering or Blackout?

Choose light-filtering fabric when you want to maintain a bright room while reducing direct sunlight and preventing a clear view through the shade.

Choose blackout fabric when darkness and complete opacity are more important, particularly in bedrooms and media rooms.
